Difference Between the Emergency Room and Walk-In Care

Emergency Room (ER):

  • For life-threatening or severe medical emergencies such as major injuries, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or unconsciousness
  • Possible longer wait times due to prioritizing critical cases
  • Higher costs for emergency services

Walk-In Care:

  • For minor health concerns like sprains, minor cuts, fever, cold, and flu
  • No appointment is needed, walk in and get prompt medical attention
  • Shorter wait times as non-life-threatening cases are prioritized
  • Lower costs compared to the emergency room
